The Structure of Government
Introduction
- Last day we looked at the impact of how a society functions knowing that people come from a wide variety of experiences, cultures, traditions, and values. As such, there are many different views as to how society should operate. While many of the characteristics we identified as a class where common and not at odds with one another, it became obvious that certain things were not possible. For example, "no taxes" and "free education even university" might not be possible.
- We live in a representative democracy in which the candidates we elect are supposed to serve the best interests of the people. Today's lesson will focus on the structures in place in Canada.
